Language Arts: Today we began exploring possible topics for students' next expository essay. Specifically, we considered whether given topics had strong enough "Ideas and Content" to carry a student through a five-paragraph essay.
HW: Come to class with at least one idea for what you could write about on your upcoming personal essay.
Math 8: Today we started warm up #002 (reviewed 1-5 in class), organized class file folders, worked on additional practice in class.
HW: A.C.E. pg 17, #15 only
Algebra: Today we started the period off with a fire drill. Came back to class and finished Warm Up #002, organized class file folders, started math vocab crossword.
HW: finish math vocab crossword. Read "Math and History Application" worksheet and answer questions 1 & 2
Social Studies: Today we practiced the 50 states from a blank, numbered map. We also looked at world cities and how to find them using longitude and latitude.
HW: practice your 50 states, test is Sept. 27
Science: Today we applied the engineering knowledge we learned yesterday to make the final iteration of our structure. We were given the challenge to use as few materials as possible. Afterward, we wrote a reflection.
HW: Finish reflection if not done in class. This should take no more than 15 minutes.
