Language Arts: Today we continued conducting research in the library. Students will use their notes to begin writing a research paper next week.

HW: None

Math 8: Today we finished "climbing the ladder" review of Lessons 1-5 from their text and began Lesson 6 "Corresponding and Same-side Interior Angles".  Finished worksheet 6T as a class, is to be used as notes along with pg 29-31 in text for HW.

Algebra: Today we started with "Magical Lines" warm up and reviewed HW individually.  All students were given the challenge problem in class, given 25 minutes to start in class.

HW: Finish Challenge problems (#1-5 and one story problem)
    Review 4.7C (answer key provided) for supplemental Function Notation assessment tomorrow

Social Studies: Today we started the civil war.  We read and discuss the reasons for war started.

HW: read and answer the questions from the Dred Scott Supreme Court Case

Science: Period 1 - Today we finished our plate boundary vocabulary, and then went on a fossil safari to find evidence that the continents have moved.

HW: None

Periods 6-8 - Today we talked about how convection currents are the driving force for continental drift, and started plate boundary vocabulary.
