Language Arts: Today we began building background knowledge for our upcoming short story, "Flowers for Algernon". Students read an article on multiple intelligences and practiced taking Cornell Notes in the format they are to use for tomorrow's upcoming opportunity in "Word Meaning" a.k.a. Vocabulary.
HW: The third draft and Step 8 Assessment/Reflection is due on MONDAY, 10/31. Students are expected to turn in ALL drafts and Step 8 together.
Math 8: Today we took our first quiz on "Solving 1 &2 step equations". After students were finished we reviewed the associative and commutative properties and continued work on the distributive property and organizing our spirals.
HW: NONE
Algebra: Today we took our first quiz on "Transforming Formulas". Students were asked to turn in their Algebra workbooks, as we will begin to graph linear equations. As an introduction, students were asked to copy a uniformed graph that is labeled appropriately as well as complete a preliminary vocabulary crossword.

Social Studies: Today we watched a short video on Human Rights and discussed their significance globally and locally.
HW: 2-3 paragraph answer to the three questions on the back of the handout
Science: Today we defined key terms related to our study of the Earth/Sun/Moon System
HW: None!
