Language Arts: Today we spent our last day as a class researching in the library. Next week, students will use the notes they have to write a multi-paragraph research paper.

HW: If students do not have sufficient notes completed, they need to continue researching by using the BSD eResearch sites at home and/or using their local library. Sufficient notes may be anywhere between 12-18 notecards (depending on the amount of info on each notecard). Students were given login info to be able to access BSD eResearch databases.

Math 8: Today we finished up with Block 1 of Lines and Angles, with Lesson 6, "Corresponding and Same-Side Angles".

HW: finish Lesson 6 if not finished in class
    Practice Quiz for block 1 in Lines and Angles

Algebra: Today we took Part II of Function Notation assessment

HW:  Study Guide 8.5 (mandatory)
    Simple Interest Worksheet (optional)

Social Studies: Today we read about events leading up to the civil war that were a about the institution of slavery.  We also talked about Dred Scott and how slaves were now considered property and not people under the law.

HW: none, unless you didn't complete your Dred Scott homework

Science: Today we worked on our Fossil Safari lab, answered the questions, and then watched Bill Nye - Fossils.
