Language Arts: Today we had time work on writing our connections to our text. Specifically, students are making connections to Act 2, Scenes 1-2 of the Anne Frank play. Connections can be text to self, text to text, or text to society.
HW: Connections are due tomorrow!
Math 8: Today we started Warm Up #6 and allowed 15 minutes to finish lab from previous class before reviewing our results as a class. Finished class with a review of Mean, Median, Mode, and Range.
HW: worksheet - pg 171 & 172 (front and back)
Algebra: Today we introduced linear regression (Line of Best Fit) using our data from "Tennis Ball" lab from Friday to make a scatterplot. We examined positive and negative correlations as well as determining a linear equation (y=mx+b) from our scatterplot model. The students practiced physical graphs representing the Line of Best Fit as well as by graphing calculator.
HW: Scatterplot and Line of Best Fit worksheet - Practice 5.6 , #'s 1-9 (front and back)
Social Studies: Today we took our final pretest for president's #1-21. Then we finished discussing how bills become laws and and completed a blank template as a class.
HW: President's test tomorrow. #1-21
Science: Today we learned about relative time by reading a parable. We answered questions individually, as a table group, and then as a class.
