Language Arts: Today we discussed how to write a thesis that has a controlling idea. We also had class time to work on using their pre-write to write out their rough draft.

HW: Write the rough draft of your personal essay. (This should be five paragraphs long for most students.)

Math 8: Today we reviewed class syllabus/expectations from Day 1. Reviewed the homework from Tues/Wed (A.C.E. #1-3, & 15). Began investigation 1.3

HW: pg 9, #1-3 all

Algebra: Today we corrected vocabulary crossword and discussed the history of algebra and its relation to real world applications. Focusing on translating verbal phrases into expression and vice versa.

HW: Workbook lesson 1.4 (front and back)

Social Studies: Today we took an assessment on Geography Tools Review #1 and #2. Quiz took the whole class period.

HW: None!!!

Science: Today we graphed our data and examined the results as a class. We then rewrote our Procedure to take into account some of the variables that were not considered in our first draft. We also had our science spirals checked for completion.

HW: Finish rewriting procedure if it's not finished in class. This should take no more than 15 minutes.
