Language Arts: Today we discussed expository (or informational) writing and the different types of expository writing around them.

HW: None

Math 8: Today we discussed linear relationships in tables and graphs and graphed walking rate results from last class in groups. Warm Up #002 (proportions, number line, Pythagorean Theorem, statistics practice)

HW: A.C.E. problems 1-3, pgs 12-13

Algebra: Today we continued work on order of operations and Warm Up #002 (median, stem-leaf plot, and perimeter/area practice). Began looking at translating verbal phrases in algebraic expressions.

HW: 1.3 in workbook (pg 5-6) ALL

Social Studies: Today we looked at grid maps and coordinates. Also, students put in their planners the 50 states test that will be September 27.

HW: Make sure grid map is complete.

Science: Today we learned strategies of engineering that will provide us with better information for making a proper structure that works. We found key points in our reading passages, and then shared them with the rest of the class.

HW: None!
