Language Arts: Today we worked in groups to investigate the differences between a stronger and weaker literary analysis. Students will need to independently analyze a text tomorrow, as part of their Call of the Wild Final.
HW: Study for the Call of the Wild; review your notes and revisit your previous text analyses for improvements.
Math 8: Today we began reviewing for our 2nd round (opportunity) with Oaks testing. We will return to normal class schedule and lesson next Tuesday.
HW: Finish practice Oaks questions for 8.1, using "Notes Organizer" completed in class
Algebra: Today we had time in class to review for Quiz on Rational Exponents before taking the quiz.
HW: Study Guide 1.6 & 1.6 A - "Function Notation" (MDL pgs 35-37)
Social Studies: Today we broke into our groups for the Road to Civil War debate. Students will begin researching for a smaller group in their North vs. South debate next week.
HW: Please make sure you have read over the packet to see what information and tools are provided for you to use.
Science: Period 1 - Today we found vocabulary from our Earthquake Unit and sorted/organized the words in a way that made sense to us.
HW: None
Periods 6-8 - Today we learned about the Modified Mercalli Scale and started to find the epicenter of an earthquake based on the damage done.
