Language Arts: Today we used our homework to discuss how to match commentary (CM) to concrete details (CD) and practice making accurate interpretations of text. We also read through Act 1, Scene 4.

HW: Any student who does not have concrete details in the "Beginning" column of their notes for each character in the play, should use their copy of Scene 3 to make sure their notes are up to date (2-3 CDs for each character).

Math 8: Today we finished correcting/reviewing Oaks practice test for 8th grade math and went to the library to check out "Thinking w/Math Models" (TMM) and returned "Moving Straight Ahead" (MSA). We set up the lab for tomorrow on Exploring Data Patterns after returning from the library. HW is a preview of the lab.

HW: Investigation 1 Check Up WS

Algebra: Today we reviewed/corrected practice Oaks test for 8th grade math. Turned in problems 1.1 and 1.2 from "Thinking w/Math Models"

HW: TMM pg 11, Problem 1.3 B-D

Social Studies: Today we continued our notes on the Legislative Branch and the structure of the government. Students were then given a homework page to make sure they are reviewing and taking good notes.

HW: Article I WS due Wednesday, study presidents #1-21 for test on Jan 19th and Preamble WS about its meaning and relevance today due Friday, Jan. 13

Science: Today we turned in our comics and learned to differentiate between gravitational potential energy (GPE) and kinetic energy (KE). We learned the relationship between them.

HW: Finish worksheets if not done in class. This should take no more than 15 minutes.
