Language Arts: Today we reviewed our previous reading responses in preparation for our next character analysis opportunity. Students presented on examples of reading responses and the class discussed how to keep their analysis accurate and focused on a significant character trait.
HW: Make sure your character notes are up to date! You will need to turn them in tomorrow AND you will need them for analyzing characters in the Anne Frank Play test.
Math 8: Today we reviewed and turned in problems 1.3 A & B (TMM pg 10 -11). Began looking at "Line of Best Fit" in linear models to make predictions and analyze data.
HW: TMM, pg, 24-26, Problem 2.1 A & B
Algebra: Today we started with brief review of Pythagorean Theorem worksheet given as HW over the weekend as well as reviewed/corrected Scatter Plot Quiz from Friday. Finished the period discussing how to analyze surveys and identify any bias that may be present (pg 871-72 in MDL).
HW: Practice 13.5 worksheet, #1-6
Social Studies: Today we looked at how the Federal Gov't balances its powers. We filled in a chart along with our discussion. Then we began notes on the Executive Branch.
HW: Review chart on Checks and Balances and study president's #22-44, assessment Feb.2
Science: Today we learned about an atom's nucleus and discovered how the nucleus helps us to determine absolute age.
HW: None, unless you didn't finish your stratigraphy worksheet from Friday.
